New, York- Wanita M. Burgdoff, 83, Oneida Towers, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, in St. Luke’s Home, New Hartford, where she had been a patient for the past two and one-half months.
Born in the town of Jewett, on March 25, 1942, she was the daughter of Fred and Effie Atwell Platt. A resident of the Oneida-Durhamville area for over seventy years, Wanita attended Oneida schools. Her husband, Robert J. Burgdoff, who died on August 9, 1997.
Wanita was a former member of the Durhamville Baptist Church and a current member of the Canastota-Lenox Seniors and the Verona Seniors, was active in bowling leagues and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making items for patients at Oneida Healthcare and Roswell Memorial Park Hospital.
Surviving is his son, William A. Burgdoff of Whitesboro; a granddaughter, Brooklynn Buirgdoff; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stanley Burgdoff, a sister, Freida Egelston and a brother, Frederick Platt.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, in Barrow Cemetery, Winder, Georgia.
