Mrs. Shameka Elizabeth Cole, passed away peacefully at the age of 40 on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Emory University Hospital surrounded by her husband and close family members. She was born in Queens, New York on December 20, 1982, to Alisa Cheryl Carpenter and Edward Wright. In 2001, she graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in Poughkeepsie, New York and later attended college. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2007, where she met her soul mate, Mr. Larry Cole.
They were married in April 13, 2010, and recently celebrated thirteen wonderful years together. Shameka had a passion for entrepreneurship and had success in the areas of Film, Social Media Strategist, Content Creation Specialist, and Video Director. Yet, her greatest passion and what brought her the most joy was being a Stay-At-Home Mom with her children. She loved shopping and had an eye for fashion and beauty. Meca Loved the Lord, and purposed in her heart to have her children grow up in the fear and admonition of God. The last time she was able to come to Church, Pastor prayed for her, and she had the Love, affection and sentiment of them all.
Shameka leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband Larry Cole Jr., four Children, Isaiah Cole, Larry Cole, Caleb Cole, and Ariel Cole; Mother, Alisa Cheryl Carpenter, Father, Edward Wright: Three brothers, Alonzo (Monique) Carpenter Bowers, Qudair Carpenter Bowers; one loving Mother-in-law, Elosie Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Coreyon (Tasha) Ingram and Jovon McMillion; seven uncles, Terry Carpenter, Jerome Carpenter, Duane Carpenter, Johnny Fear, Chris Wright (Godfather), Ira Wright and Bobby Haynes; Two God-Mothers, Cynthia Holmes and Sandy Brennan; eight nieces, Serenity, Naomi, Donnalynn, Starr, Sahar, Sevyn, Makinley and Kendall. Three nephews, Naz 'sir, Dunnovan and Kylen; many other relatives and friends; including special cousins, Janel Carpenter and Tequan Fears.
Shameka is preceded in death by her Grandmother the late Ms. Geneva Carpenter who raised her and her Father-in-law the late Rev. Larry D. Cole Sr.
