Kierra Shantease Newbold was born on February 18, 1991 to the parents of Maranda Newbold and Rodney Reese. Kierra received her early education at Rock Island Elementary School and Arthur Ash Middle School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She attended high school at Mundy Mill High School in Jonesboro, Ga. Kierra was baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, she attended World Changers Church International of College Park, Georgia and Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, Georgia. Kierra recently rededicated her life to Christ along with her husband at Bethel World Outreach Church in Nashville, TN. Kierra moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016 where she became a certified nail technician and entrepreneur. Kierra was the proud owner of the Nail Therapy Mobile Spa where she specialized in natural nails. If you ever met Kierra—lovingly known by her family as “BLOCK”—you’d never forget her. That’s because she never met a stranger. Whether in line at the store or dancing at a party, she had a way of making everyone feel like family. Her energy was magnetic, and her smile could light up any room (and often did). Kierra was the party. No matter the song, she was the first to dance—and probably teaching you the latest moves while she did it. She had style for days, rocking bold colors with confidence and flair. Whether she was doing hair in the kitchen, picking out the perfect outfit for someone else, or turning heads with her own look, Kierra was always spreading joy through her creativity and love of fashion. She was bold, outspoken, and full of faith. A natural encourager, she shared her love for God with anyone willing to listen—and sometimes even those who weren’t. Through her nine-year battle with cancer, she never stopped shining. Her favorite words? “God keeps coming through for me.” And she meant it—every single time. Kierra’s life was filled with love, laughter, dancing, and the kind of light that sticks with you. She was unforgettable. And she always will be! On Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 5:03pm Kierra transitioned into her new life at the tender age of 34. Kierra was preceded in death by: her mother Maranda Newbold; father Rodney Reese; sisters: Kieyania Reese and Markeyah Green. Kierra is survived by: her husband Justin Berryman; loving parents Lloyd and Monica Walker; her siblings Fayshawne Walker, Christopher Walker, and Shantay Sanders (Demetrics); her grandmother Louise Newbold and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other family, and many dear friends.
