Atlanta, GA- We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jeffrey Smith age 52 of Atlanta, GA. he entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
Jeffrey was born on July 24, 1970, in Brooklyn, New York to Mr. Matthew A. Smith III and the late Mrs. Arletha Dixon Smith. He is proceeded in death by his loving sister Lenore Smith. Jeffrey was raised and built his life in Atlanta, GA.
In the year of 1979 Mr. Smith was baptized and became a member of Cascade United Methodist Church, where he and the SMITH FAMILY were long standing members. Jeffrey's Participation at Cascade included singing in the Coming Generation Choir. He was also an active participant in the Youth Ministry, Homeless Ministry, Usher and an Acolyte. He was very proud to be a member of the Boys Scouts of America organization where he learned many valuable life skills. He attended and graduated from the historic Booker T Washington High School in 1988. No doubt Jeff's love for being a member of the Boy Scouts led him to joining the U.S. Army, where he served his county and Private E-1 from the year of November 1988 until the year of August 1992. Jeffrey fulfilled his services as a decorated member of the United States Army by serving in the Gulf War. He was later stationed in Germany and Fort Polk, Louisiana where he was honorably discharged. His rewards and recognition included an Army Lapel Button, Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal 1st AWD, Kuwait Liberation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal and two Bronze Service Stars.
After many years of employment in the work force, Jeffrey decided to pursue his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. To know Jeff was to know he was the constant student-of knowledge and of life. His journey through academia included Atlanta Technical College where he received an associate degree in business management in August 2014. He later enrolled at Clayton State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in applied science in May 2019. his love and eagerness for learning never stopped. Most recently he had begun taking courses at Interactive College of Technology. In life he was indeed the " life of the party." and his laugh was contagious. In contrast he was always willing to debate with you to exhaustion about thoughts he was passionate about, this passion included but was not limited to his zeal for all Atlanta teams (The Falcon, The Braves, and The Hawks). But even in opposition he was always coming from a place of love. This same love was doubled in measure when it came to animals.
Jeffrey leaves, to cherish his loving memories, his loving Father Mr. Matthew A. Smith III, his loving Brother Matthew A. Smith IV (Mary) and Donald J. Smith, his loving Sister Andrea Briscoe, Matricia Williams his Daughter, Nieces Diamond and Saniya Smith, Nephew Jermiah Smith, Aunt Karen Smith, Uncle James Dixon and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
We Solicit your prayers for the SMITH Family.
